Living in Birmingham for a long time but having grown up in the countryside residency artist Vanley Burke immersed himself in the space and history of the landscape, walking the farm and woodland, visiting the local town of Presteigne and taking a trip to a local dairy farm.
Struck by the drama of the late summer landscape Vanley positioned himself on top of the farm pick-up truck to capture the round bales spread out across the fields in a safari like photo shoot.
