eARTh Weekend Masterclass
With Tony Hall
20 & 21 May 10:30am - 4.30pm £98
Join potter Tony Hall for this weekend masterclass in clay - and the natural materials found in the landscape. The Rodd is blessed with an abundance of soils, clay, wood, stone and foliage and the weekend will allow for a creative exploration of the site. Dig for earth pigment to draw and paint with; explore the sculptural potential of found wood and stone.
Create, test and raku fire ceramic glazes from the Rodd’s own clay-filled soil.
The masterclass aims to broaden perspectives and refresh approaches to creative practice for emerging and established artists and as creative inspiration for those interested in ceramics.
There may be an opportunity to extend explorations into the early evening on the Saturday evening - depending on the availability of participants. This is by no means an essential requirement.
Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided, but please do bring a bring a packed lunch.
Part of the day will involve walking in the landscape here at The Rodd - please wear appropriate clothing and suitable footwear.
Email us for information regarding accomodation at our onsite farmhouse.
