Chris Drury

16th March 2017 - Evening event: Chris Drury Talks.

Chris Drury is renowned for his site-specific natural world. He was born in Sri Lanka and studied at Camberwell College of Arts and University of the Arts London.  Over three decades Chris has made work across the globe responding to remarkable natural places and cultures.

“My work makes connections between different phenomena in the world, specifically between Nature and Culture, Inner and Outer and Microcosm and Macrocosm. To this end I collaborate with scientists and technicians from a broad spectrum of disciplines and use whatever visual means, technologies and materials best suit the situation.”

On 16th March Chris will talk about work including a current commission ‘The Wandering’ - formed on the site of the new Perth stadium - and ‘The Ways of Trees, Earth and Water’ - a collaborative commission in Canberra.
