More information

Abet is our latest arts participation programme for people 18+.

Abet offers a space for those with an interest in the arts, to come together with others to develop their creative thinking and making skills through discussion, research, and experimentation.

The group focuses on a specific idea as an ongoing area of enquiry over a period of time and builds an artistic response. Recent sessions have focused on memory mapping, on AI and fly posters, Land Art and sculpture.

Abet is led by artist Emma Posey and Antony Mottershead, Curator & Creative Producer at the Sidney Nolan Trust and includes visiting artists and curators.

In September’s session (Saturday 7th), we will use the current Hogback Hills exhibition as a starting point for our investigations followed by creating stop-motion animations. This particular workshop is designed to be accessible to all – it will be carried out between the gallery and the education shed (EdShed) with even ground and limited walking required between the activities and with plenty of seating provided :) Please do contact Antony if you have any questions.

The next session will be on Sat 19th October’s session.

Each session is £25 per person. Running from 10am to 2pm, the price includes a light lunch and art materials.
