Contemporary glass artists Axelle Mary & Sacha Delabre work locally in the international glass studio of Baldwin and Guggisberg. The two French artists have collaborated to present From Utility to Futility, an exhibition of new work in the atmospheric setting of 17th-century Rodd Court.
Inspired by the Dadaist movement, which criticised societal norms, everyday objects are transformed into impractical art pieces. The artists astonish us with their skill while challenging our perception of value and utility and highlighting the senselessness of endlessly consuming new goods.
The artists have worked closely with local artists and master craftspeople including Izzi Lombardo Bim Burton.
